Job Title: Care Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Care Manager to join our team at Adelaide Care Ltd. As a Care Manager, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality homecare services that support the rights of clients to live the lives they choose.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the branch, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Allocate resources and monitor performance to deliver high-quality homecare to customers.
  • Lead, manage, and support a team of staff, providing sound leadership and ensuring staff are clear about their duties and responsibilities.
Deputy Care Manager Duties and Specific Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the day-to-day functionality of the branch, ensuring safe delivery of services in line with legislative requirements and company policies.
  2. Be responsible for the safe delivery of the service, undertaking training and development to stay up-to-date with the law, best practice, and changes in company policy, CQC regulations, and government legislation.
  3. Understand and monitor health and safety in the workplace and in the field, maintaining full and accurate records and reporting systems.
  4. Effectively manage and record complaints and incidents, carrying out investigations and using findings to make improvements.
  5. Be prepared to work flexibly to ensure the safe delivery of the service, providing an excellent service to clients and customers.
  6. Promote the rights of each client, keeping their wishes at the centre of their care and support.
  7. Make sure that prior to each client commencing, a client assessment and risk assessment with the client, and/or their chosen representatives, has been completed.
  8. Make sure a written individually tailored care and support plan has been created and agreed, respecting the client's wishes and promoting their dignity and privacy.
  9. Provide the client, and where appropriate their representatives, with information about the service, so that they are clear about what to expect and how they can raise any concerns.
  10. Apply excellent communication skills with clients, their families and representatives, staff, and other health and social care professionals to deliver high-quality homecare services.
  11. Keep all information about clients and their families secure and confidential.
  12. Lead, manage, support, and mentor staff, adhering to the code of conduct / confidentiality in the office and being respectful of peers, working cohesively.
  13. Work with the HR Manager to manage the effective recruitment, induction, and training of the coordinator(s), supervisor(s), care workers, and other support staff.
  14. Identify ongoing training needs and ensure staff are up to date with current best practice.
  15. Ensure there are sufficient numbers of suitably qualified staff allocated appropriately to meet service needs at all times.
  16. Implement company policy and procedures in relation to managing absence, disciplinary, capability, and grievance matters.
  17. Provide information, guidance, and ongoing supervision to enable staff to effectively and safely carry out their roles.
  18. Carry out annual appraisals and monitoring of staff performance.
  19. Ensure all emergency on-call issues are dealt with effectively.
  20. Promote the business, attending external meetings and representing the service in a positive manner.
  21. Participate in the growth and development of the business, working with the senior management team to achieve sales targets and deliver within budget.
  22. Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Senior Management.
  23. Complete regular monthly audits of client and carer files.
