Care Unit Manager Role Overview
Care UK is seeking a skilled and compassionate Care Unit Manager to lead our care team and provide exceptional care to our residents. As a Care Unit Manager, you will be responsible for supervising a team of caregivers and ensuring the highest level of care is provided to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Supervise a Care Team: Oversee a team of caregivers and provide guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
- Develop and Implement Care Plans: Work with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
- Manage Admissions and Discharges: Coordinate the admission and discharge process for new residents, ensuring a smooth transition and minimizing disruption to the care team.
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team: Work closely with the leadership team to enhance services, improve care quality, and drive business growth.
- Administer Medication: Ensure the safe and effective administration of medication to residents, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a Positive Work Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and respect among caregivers and residents.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care: Possess a recognized qualification in health and social care, demonstrating a strong foundation in care principles and practices.
- Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records, ensuring the smooth operation of the care team.
- Commitment to Continuous Learning: Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
