**Design Engineer

About the Role
Holt Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Design Engineer to join our team. As a Junior Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of new products and processes, working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful product launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new products, processes, and testing protocols.
- Design and develop processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs, while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Conduct testing and stress testing to identify potential product issues and improve product quality.
- Utilize Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to identify potential product issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Train production teams on new products and processes, ensuring a smooth transition and minimizing downtime.
- Design and manufacture jigs and fixtures to support production operations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Review process sheets and maintain updated records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with 5S and health and safety standards, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Provide constructive input and encourage idea sharing among colleagues, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Support and inspire colleagues to perform at their best, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Prioritize workload effectively and maintain punctuality and good timekeeping, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Prior experience in product design and development, process design, and testing.
- Familiarity with process design and costing, as well as health and safety requirements and compliance.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Proven ability to train and support production teams, with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize workload effectively, with excellent time management skills.
