Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Curator to join our team at Code4lib. As a Digital Curator, OCR/HTR Specialist, you will play a key role in improving the access and usability of our digital collections by integrating a standardized Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Handwritten Text Recognition (HTR) production process into our existing workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a standardized OCR/HTR production process to enhance the discoverability of our digital content.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate OCR/HTR technologies into our existing workflows.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in OCR/HTR.
- Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues on OCR/HTR technologies and workflows.
- Contribute to the development of digital research methods and tools to facilitate digital scholarship.
Requirements
- Technical and practical experience working with digital images and operational workflows.
- Experience developing or applying digital research methods and working with technologies, tools, and platforms that enable digital scholarship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues from diverse disciplines.
