We are seeking an experienced Automation Developer to join our UK team. Reporting directly to the Head of Tooling and Automation, this role involves implementing and configuring automations for new and existing customers across various environments, including Atos Technology Framework, the UK Secure Cloud (IRIS) environment, or customer-specific settings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical expertise on automation building blocks, their requirements, dependencies, and integration with other tools;
  • Attending service design workshops to align Tower expectations into deliverables;
  • Collaborating with a team to plan, design, and implement automations;
  • Working with Stream Leads/Architects to develop Operational Acceptance Criteria and attain sign-off for automation deployments;
  • Offering regular internal reports on progress and issues to Automation management;
  • Maintaining local documentation and contributing to globally held documentation for automation tools;
  • Providing third-line support for automations;
  • Contributing to operational work instructions and helping build them;
  • Evaluating automation capabilities continually and contributing to Service Improvements;
  • Participating as part of a virtual team within projects, fostering close relationships with peers from other areas of the business.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A solid understanding of service organisation and automation products;
  • Experience working in project environments;
  • Familiarity with designing automation workflows.

Beyond the essentials, beneficial skills include:

  • Full-stack development skills, specifically Python (Flask) for server-side, React/JavaScript for front-end;
  • Good knowledge of SQL databases;
  • Understanding of server-side and front-end frameworks;
  • Programming/scripting languages such as Ruby, PowerShell, Python, API/SDK Development, Node.js;
  • Proficiency in Linux and MS Windows in command line interface, text editors, and SSH clients;
  • DevOps/Agile processes, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment concepts and tools;
  • Automation frameworks and tools like Red Hat Ansible Automation;
  • Implementing system infrastructure and cloud solutions, encompassing data storage, networking, monitoring, and security;
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Management frameworks and relevant tools.
