About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with military experience to transition into a civilian career with Amazon UK Services Ltd. As an Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our sites, driving excellence in safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a team of Area Managers to achieve operational excellence
  • Lead operational teams on a shift, addressing issues, and positively impacting site performance
  • Analyze shift performance against business objectives, implementing actions to improve operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with support teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security
  • Design and deliver initiatives to enhance operational performance across sites
A Day in the Life

You will lead shifts at one of our operational sites, serving as a key link between various teams, including finance, safety, and operations integration. Your day will involve meetings, deep dives into performance and risk metrics, and mentoring your team to achieve excellence.

About the Team

As part of Amazon's Transportation Service (ATS) team, you will join a diverse group of professionals who play a vital role in our success. Our team uses data-driven insights to drive decisions, ensuring efficient transportation and customer satisfaction.

We prioritize safety and use the expertise of our people to deliver packages quickly, conveniently, and sustainably.

Requirements
  • A degree
  • Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal skills and intermediate proficiency in the local language
  • Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
  • Relevant experience in key areas of production and supply chains

Preferred qualifications include experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques, as well as working with the MS Office suite in a professional environment.
