Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Architecture & Technology Group at Arm's Headquarters in Cambridge. As a Principal Architecture Development Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and maintenance of the Arm Architecture, specifically focusing on virtual memory and system memory architecture.

Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to the design and development of Arm architecture products, including authored and machine-readable architecture specifications, models, and testing/validation.
  2. Evaluate the viability of future architecture features and enhancements through modelling, prototyping, and analysis.
  3. Ensure architecture specifications are unambiguous and complete.
  4. Collaborate with Arm architects, project managers, technical writers, and the wider team to plan and transfer knowledge to those products.
  5. Assist in review and maintenance of Arm's architecture reference manuals and other externally facing documentation.
Requirements
  • Understanding of processor architecture and software-hardware interaction.
  • Practical working knowledge of virtual memory systems architecture.
  • Ability to reason about and articulate engineering trade-offs using quantitative evidence.
  • Enthusiasm for growing technical knowledge and working multi-functionally.
  • Bachelors (BS) or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Sciences, or Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
Nice to Have
  • Exposure to Arm Architecture.
  • Experience in writing software models.
  • Understanding of file formats and markup languages.
  • Experience collaborating with internal or external customers to establish requirements and constraints.
  • Experience with software tooling, testing, and delivery practices.
