Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Assembly Technician to join our team at Cooper Lomaz. As an Electrical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the Electrical Chargehand in the electrical assembly of control boxes and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reading mechanical layout drawings and electrical wiring diagrams to ensure accurate assembly
  • Using factory tools, such as disc cutters, pillar drills, and DIN cutters, to assemble control boxes and machinery
  • Laying out and assembling back-plates to drawings and drilling enclosures, gland plates, and other components
  • Installing SY, CY, and YY cable on machinery and assembling multipin plug socket assemblies
  • Manufacturing flying leads for machinery and providing electrical assembly support and advice to in-house manufacture and project engineers
  • Performing general quality control and improvement tasks and maintaining a tidy workspace

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an electrical role is required
  • Electrical qualifications and knowledge of the 18th Edition would be an advantage
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment and experience manufacturing control panels and assemblies
  • Broad general knowledge of electrical components and own tools, such as wire strippers, crimpers, and screwdrivers
