Electrical Wire Person Job Description

Cooper Lomaz Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Wire Person to join our team. As an Electrical Wire Person, you will be responsible for assisting the Electrical Chargehand in the electrical assembly of control boxes and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Control Box Assembly: Read mechanical layout drawings, read electrical wiring diagrams, use factory tools, lay out and assemble back-plates to drawings, lay out and drill enclosures, gland plates, etc.
  • Machinery Assembly: Read mechanical layout drawings, read electrical wiring diagrams, read cable schedules, use factory tools, install SY, CY, YY cable on machinery, assemble multipin plug socket assemblies, manufacture flying leads for machinery.
  • General: Provide electrical assembly support and advice to our in-house manufacture and project engineers, general quality control/improvement, keep your bench tidy and your workload up to date.
Requirements:
  • Electrical qualifications/knowledge would be an advantage.
  • 18th Edition would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in an electrical role required.
Desirable Qualities/Skills:
  • Attention to detail, accurate and efficient with strong problem-solving, communication and time management skills.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience manufacturing control panels and assemblies.
  • Experience reading wiring diagrams, cable schedules.
  • Broad general knowledge of electrical components.

Please note that owning tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers, etc. is required.
