This role is critical to achieving our vision. As a Water Treatment Operations Specialist, you'll play a key part in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of water and wastewater services to our 3 million customers across Wales and England.

We're seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in instrumentation and control systems, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned maintenance of ICA plant, making decisions on tasks and frequencies to balance regular checks and breakdowns.
  • Work closely with area's wastewater teams to provide ICA support and expertise for wastewater treatment works and associated assets.
  • Programme PLCs, telemetry, and SCADA systems to efficiently control and monitor unmanned plant, amending existing programmes in response to faults and operational changes.
  • Be actively involved in design, installation, and commissioning of Capital Schemes to enhance ICA, process optimisation, and environmental discharge monitoring and control.
  • Design, install, commission, and maintain all instrumentation and communication links to wastewater assets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • HNC or equivalent in ICA related discipline.
  • Clean Driving License.
  • Time Served apprenticeship in a relevant role – electronics, instrumentation, or electrical.
  • Proven track record and experience of working in a production/plant environment such as water, oil & gas, nuclear, or chemical industries.
  • The ability to develop positive working relationships across water production teams and the wider organisation.
  • Effective communication skills and a team player who understands the importance of initiative, ownership, and accountability.
