Duty Manager Role
The Duty Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the franchisee in running the store efficiently and profitably, in accordance with company policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include leading, coaching, and inspiring team members to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Action and implement business performance targets set by the Restaurant Manager.
- Monitor and optimize restaurant sales levels and profitability.
- Coordinate marketing activities, including promotional events and discount schemes.
- Prepare detailed reports on staff control, food control, wastage, and sales at the end of each shift/week.
- Develop and execute plans for departmental sales, profit, and staff development.
Stock Control:
- Order and requisition food and supplies to ensure efficient store operation.
- Coordinate weekly and daily ordering to maintain optimal stock levels and meet special orders for functions.
- Work with other supervisors and managers to coordinate stock deliveries and maintain accurate records.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with GDK standards.
Training and Development:
- Provide ongoing training and support to staff members, with suitable training provided to the successful applicant.
- Ensure store staff are well-groomed and smartly dressed for work.
- Maintain high standards of storage area security, neatness, and cleanliness to ensure quality control, hygiene, and safety.
- Ensure food presentation and standards meet GDK requirements.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, with a focus on maintaining the GDK standard and quality.
- Meet and greet customers, and address any queries or complaints promptly.
- Train staff on fire and safety procedures, ensuring awareness of Health, Safety, and Fire regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for additional revenue growth.
- Provide knowledge of ingredients and cooking methods to customers if requested.
- Prepare duty rosters, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene procedures.
- Assist other staff members as needed.
- Minimize wastage and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, with a talent for motivating others and delivering excellent customer service.
- Hold a basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Conduct daily staff briefings and ensure punctuality and availability for each shift.
- Monitor and record freezer and chiller temperatures hourly.
- Arrange store maintenance as required.
- Support and adhere to the equal opportunities policy of the company.
- Care in service to avoid accidents.
- Ensure cash and credit card security.
- Perform any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.
