Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust Full time
Adult Psychotherapist Opportunity

This is a chance for an experienced and enthusiastic Adult Psychotherapist to join the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust's Complex Psychological Interventions Service.

The service collaborates closely with community-based teams to provide treatment, consultations, supervision, case-based discussions, and case management.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience and relevant training in brief and long-term relational psychotherapy, along with experience working in the NHS and within mental health services. Additionally, they should have experience offering clinical supervision.

The successful candidate will work within the CPI service, which consists of a friendly and supportive team, highly valued within local services. This team comprises multidisciplinary professions, including Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, Art Psychotherapists, Psychotherapists, and Specialist Psychological Therapists.

A high level of support and supervision will be provided by more senior CPI members who specialize in various therapeutic areas. There are opportunities to connect with psychological therapist colleagues and participate in regular case presentations, peer learning, and professional development through the CPI.

The CPI has connections to local institutions and universities, enabling opportunities for teaching, mentoring, research, and staff development through ongoing training, both internally and externally.

Main Responsibilities
  1. The post holder will conduct assessments and provide treatment for adults of working age and older adults based on relational psychotherapeutic principles and techniques.
  2. The post holder is expected to offer psychotherapeutic input into the South Recovery and Assessment team and provide consultation, supervision, and teaching to colleagues at their level of experience.
  3. The post holder will contribute to the broad range of clinical work undertaken by the team, with opportunities to develop specialist skills in specific areas agreed upon with the team. They will also have the opportunity to work on brief psychotherapeutic interventions as well as longer-term work across various settings.
  4. The post holder is expected to offer clinical supervision (individual and group) to other professionals (e.g., Recovery team staff) and, if required, to other staff (e.g., psychotherapists, CPI staff, and resident psychiatrists).

This position offers a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.
