At Home Instead, we provide professional companionship services to support older adults in their daily lives. Our CAREGivers are trained to provide emotional support, conversation, and companionship to help build meaningful relationships with our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer companionship and conversation to help alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation
- Monitor diet and eating habits to ensure our clients receive the nutrition they need
- Provide medication reminders to help our clients stay on track with their medication
- Stimulate and encourage our clients through a variety of activities, such as hobbies, games, and outings
- Arrange appointments, activities, and outings to help our clients stay engaged and active
- Organise mail and write letters to help our clients stay connected with loved ones
- Assist with walking and provide support to help our clients maintain their independence
In addition to companionship services, our CAREGivers also provide home help services to support our clients with daily tasks and errands. This includes:
- Running errands and collecting prescriptions
- Providing light housekeeping and completing laundry
- Making beds and changing linen
- Organising and tidying cupboards
- Planning, preparing, and tidying away meals
- Answering the door and providing a warm welcome to our clients' homes
- Assisting with pet care and helping our clients stay connected with their beloved pets
- Helping with shopping and ensuring our clients have access to the essentials
Our CAREGivers also provide personal care services to support our clients with daily living tasks. This includes:
- Helping with bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assisting with continence care and providing support with personal hygiene
- Helping our clients eat and drink, including assistance with meal preparation and feeding
- Providing dementia and Alzheimer's care, including support with memory loss and cognitive impairment
- Providing respite and convalescence care to help our clients recover from illness or injury
Requirements:
We are looking for compassionate and caring individuals who are passionate about supporting older adults. Our ideal candidate will have a strong desire to make a positive impact in the lives of our clients and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision. While experience in care is beneficial, it is not necessary. We provide comprehensive training and support to ensure our CAREGivers have the skills and confidence to provide high-quality care.
