About the Role

Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to provide individual learning and care support to a pupil with special educational needs (SEN) at an SEN school in Milton Keynes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to the pupil, helping them work towards their Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes.
  • Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil, fostering high self-esteem, independence, and social inclusion.
  • Implement relevant strategies to support the teacher's work and enhance the pupil's achievement.
  • Contribute to the planning of differentiated learning activities, delivering them both inside and outside the classroom to meet individual needs.
  • Support the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum, helping the pupil reach their full potential across all areas of learning.
  • Promote and facilitate inclusion by encouraging the pupil's active participation in learning, extracurricular activities, and community-based initiatives.
  • Employ consistent and effective behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, record, and report on the pupil's progress and attainment, ensuring clear communication with relevant staff.
Requirements
  • First-aid training (or willingness to complete it).
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Experience in planning and delivering learning activities is desirable.
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
