Job Title: Land Buyer/Manager

Contract Scotland is working with a Fife-based housing contractor to source a Land Manager/Buyer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business with over 30 years of experience building quality homes in the private and affordable sector.

About the Role

As a Land Buyer/Manager, you will be primarily focused on acquiring land to meet the company's targets for private and affordable housing. You will develop and maintain effective relationships with agents, landowners, and property professionals to maximize opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating and maintaining strong relationships with land agents, landowners, and other stakeholders to source land from various means.
  • Reviewing all land opportunities and conducting initial assessments to establish the best sites to pursue.
  • Carrying out market research and appraising sites against criteria agreed with internal stakeholders and sales teams.
  • Obtaining existing site records and coordinating land registry/ownership enquiries.
  • Preparing appraisals for sites using COINS land appraisal software.
  • Managing external consultants and the flow of information to agreed timescales.
  • Attending Design Team meetings and preparing planning documentation as sites progress through the pre-application enquiry and full planning application process.
  • Liaising with Planning Department representatives and managing the discharge of pre-commencement planning conditions.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable land buying experience.
  • Effective negotiating and influencing skills to optimize successful results.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively liaise with internal and external teams.
  • Report writing skills, computer literacy (MS Office), and an eye for detail.
  • Full UK Driver's License.
