About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CAD Technician to join our UK-wide Water Design Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our expanding Water Utilities workload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide designs for water and wastewater, infrastructure, and non-infrastructure projects as part of a multi-disciplinary design team.
  • Work to appropriate project controls, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Support the design team and other team members in undertaking a wide range of design-related tasks.
  • Produce design outputs in accordance with the company and client CAD procedures and standards.
  • Supervise Technicians and Trainee Technicians.
  • Be familiar with water and wastewater, infrastructure, and non-infrastructure design techniques and solutions.
  • Understand the structure and activities of the business.
  • Have a basic knowledge of our clients and the water market in general.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Understand the importance of delivering to programme and notifying the design lead when issues that affect delivery arise.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree qualification or have completed a learning agreement/apprenticeship and obtained a relevant technical qualification (HNC, HND, etc.).
  • A basic understanding of the design of water/wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure works, ideally, but open to learn if coming from another civil engineering background with appropriate experience.
  • Computer literate and conversant with the MS Office suite with good knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and other related engineering packages.
  • Strong written and oral communication and organisational skills and to produce reports in clear concise English.
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines.
  • Client-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Self-motivated with the drive to achieve continuous improvement targets.
