Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in our Secondary Schools.

About the Role:

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with teachers to provide individualized support to students, helping them to overcome learning barriers and achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to SEND students in a classroom setting or through one-on-one interventions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Support students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each student
  • Encourage student independence and confidence in their learning journey

Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEND students in a school setting (desired but not essential)
  • A genuine passion for helping students with additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet individual student needs
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEND training (preferred but not essential)
