Actuarial Analyst

This role is for a graduate trainee analyst from a numerical degree, who will assist their team of actuaries and brokers in handling large data sets and combining with industry metrics to build complex models to evaluate risk and factors that affect loss liabilities and capital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare data and consult with actuaries and brokers to deliver actuarial work in a clear, coherent, and consistent way.
  • Populate actuarial templates – experience and exposure models.
  • Contribute to team meetings and overall team ethos.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, reinsurers, and clients to support new business development within reinsurance actuarial services.
  • Assist in project or client work through the utilization of any level team member.
  • Sit the Institute of Actuaries exams, although they will consider individuals who no longer wish to pursue the exams.
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Economics, Math, Statistics, or related field.
  • Some exemptions to actuarial exams, although they will also consider individuals who no longer wish to pursue the exams.
  • Technical experience of working in pricing, reserving or capital modelling.
  • Coding experience utilising Python, R, SQL, VBA or other comparable platforms.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Economics, Math, Statistics, or related field.
  • Some exemptions to actuarial exams, although they will also consider individuals who no longer wish to pursue the exams.
  • Technical experience of working in pricing, reserving or capital modelling.
  • Coding experience utilising Python, R, SQL, VBA or other comparable platforms.
