Job Description

Job Title: Data Protection Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Officer to join our team at The Progress Group. As a Data Protection Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our customers' data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement our data protection strategy, ensuring adherence to GDPR and other relevant regulations.
  • Lead data protection initiatives, serving as the main point of contact for data protection issues within the organization.
  • Train and develop colleagues on data protection requirements, creating and delivering training programs to upskill our team.
  • Draft and update data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring compliance with data protection laws.
  • Audit data processing activities to ensure compliance and address any potential issues.
  • Act as the primary contact for data protection authorities and regulators, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Assist with the implementation of ISO27001 standards and ensure compliance with annual Cyber Essentials activities.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in data protection compliance or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of data protection laws, particularly GDPR.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, with proficiency in software for preparing reports and presentations.
