About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our Construction Department at Bedford College as a Workshop Technician - Brickwork. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our students and staff in the workshop areas, ensuring the maintenance of facilities and the serviceability of tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support and assistance to lecturers and trainers in the Construction workshop areas.
  2. Maintain workshop facilities and ensure the serviceability and security of tools and equipment.
  3. Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met.

Requirements:

  1. Level 2 NVQ/Diploma in a Construction discipline.
  2. Experience of working within the Construction industry.
  3. Knowledge of safe working practices, particularly in connection with Construction tools and equipment.
  4. Knowledge of wider Construction industry trades and current practices.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing.
  6. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
