About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Construction Workshop Technician to join our team at The Bedford College Group. As a key member of our Construction Department, you will play a vital role in supporting the success of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to lecturers and trainers in Construction workshop areas.
  • Maintain workshop facilities and ensure the serviceability and security of tools and equipment.
  • Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met.

About You:

  • Level 2 NVQ/Diploma in a Construction discipline.
  • Willingness to work towards a First Aid Qualification if not already held.
  • English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent or willingness to achieve English and mathematics Level 2 within one year.
  • Experience of working within the Construction industry.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices, particularly in connection with Construction tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of wider Construction industry trades and current practices.
  • Evidence of high performance in previous roles/jobs.
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Self-motivated and able to demonstrate having worked with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing.
  • Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable individuals.
