About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Eating Disorders Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Brighton and Hove Clinic, providing specialist inpatient services for children and young people aged 12-18 years with eating disorders.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with colleagues to provide evidence-based treatment programs tailored to the individual needs of each patient.

You will be responsible for assessing and managing patients referred to the service, collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans, and participating in on-call rotas as required.

In addition to your clinical expertise, you will also contribute to the leadership and supervision of the team, ensuring high-quality care delivery and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the assessment and management of children and young people referred to the Service
  • Assess physical health and document findings within Care notes and weekly ICR meetings
  • Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act
  • Provide leadership, supervision, reflection, and risk management to the key workers on the team
  • Participation in the CAMHS Consultant on-call rota
  • Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Take part in an Annual Appraisal Programme, with the development of Personal Development Plans, focused on Continuing Professional Development
  • Adhere to all the organisations policies and procedures
