Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting and Reporting Manager to join our Finance Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating financial decisions within the organization, building relationships with front, middle, and back office teams, and reviewing and monitoring performance of the Financial Reporting and Analysis function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Set goals for the team and ensure all staff have performance contracts that align with Finance and team goals.
  • Month-End Close Process: Manage all aspects of the month-end close process, including pre-month forecasting, the close itself, and subsequent review and validation activities.
  • Annual Audit Process: Manage all aspects of the annual audit process, ensuring timely completion and filing.
  • Control Procedures and Processes: Develop, improve, and implement control procedures and processes across the FR&A function, maintaining and strengthening the Financial Reporting and Analysis control structure to ensure compliant operations while upgrading the service offering.
  • Core Accounting Package: Ensure that the core accounting package (SAP) remains up to date and is developed to ensure efficient processes.
  • Annual Budgetary Process: Support the annual budgetary process.
  • Process Improvement: Actively identify system and/or process opportunities to streamline activity to drive efficiency without compromising control, conducting the leading and management of the implementation of such enhancements.
  • Accounting Policy: Own the company Accounting Policy, ensuring the team has a good understanding of this and that stakeholders are aware and engaged with key points.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven demonstrable experience in a similar role in an energy or commodities trading environment, with a portion of that in line management.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FRS.
  • Education: Degree in Finance/Banking/Commercial/Maritime Studies or equivalent.
  • Qualifications: Relevant professional accounting qualification preferred.

  • Skills: Excellent teamworking, networking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • System Skills: Strong system skills and knowledge are essential.
Working Arrangements

The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK by the start of their employment.
