We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting systems, treasury management, and accounts payable and fundraising finance income processing.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the accuracy and integrity of our general ledger
- Ensure internal controls are in place, including prompt reconciliations of control accounts, separation of duties, and compliance with prescribed systems of authorisation
- Assist in the preparation of annual accounts, in compliance with the SORP and relevant GAAP, and liaise with external and internal auditors
- Lead in the preparation of the annual cash flow forecast and monthly reconciliations between forecast and actual
- Manage the purchase ledger function, ensuring the ledger is kept clean and at an acceptable level
- Assist with the credit control function, in liaison with relevant service leads
- Oversee the Fundraising Accountant role, ensuring accuracy of reconciliations between Fundraising and Finance
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring its accuracy
- Submit quarterly VAT returns and VAT reconciliations
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA/ACMA Qualified or QBE
- Previous experience of working within a charity - desirable
- Well-rounded experience across transactional accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysing
- Experience assisting with leading an accounts team
- Competence with Excel
