About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect to join our Asset Management Product Tower at Manchester Airport Group (MAG). As a key member of our IT team, you will play a crucial role in transforming our business through technology, digital, and automation.

As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for defining technology solutions that meet business requirements, taking into account systems, data, process, and people. You will work closely with business analysts, project managers, development teams, and stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet desired business outcomes and add value to MAG.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver design specifications to the level of detail required to begin engineering
  • Recommend and design structures and tools for processes, applications, and technologies that meet business needs
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams, business analysts, and product leads to define solutions that meet business objectives and are deliverable in the desired timeframes
  • Support business case development and benefit identification and benefit realization
  • Present IT solutions to a range of stakeholders in the business and technical communities

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Solution Architect experience within an Asset Management setting
  • Detailed technical knowledge spanning enterprise technologies, systems, and infrastructure, private and public cloud, development, and DevOps toolsets
  • Experience building and executing an IT strategy, maintaining a technology roadmap, and adapting to business, market, and technical change
  • Extensive experience of developing, mapping, and maintaining a technical architecture using a recognized methodology
  • Ability to understand and articulate the interactions between business functions, processes, and IT components

Desirable Skills

We are looking for candidates with experience in airport development and construction projects, SAP, AWS, Azure, SoftLayer, WAN, LAN, Security, Data Centre Technologies, ESB, Integration, Middleware, ETL, IoT, Smart Infrastructure, and Provision on Managed IT Services. TOGAF or equivalent certification is also desirable.
