Job Title: SC Cleared On-Site 3rd/4th Line Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced On-Site Engineer to join our Deployed Support team. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct support to the British Armed Forces in preparing future system administrators and maintainers for live roles in operational theatres.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical support for the DII(Land Deployed) training site infrastructure
  • Act as a local level 2 & 3 resolver for technical issues
  • Collaborate with deployed communications staff of the British Armed Forces
  • Support 3rd & 4th line technical issues for deployed military operations and exercises
  • Provide desktop, infrastructure, and application hosting support
  • Ensure system availability and data integrity through system maintenance and monitoring

Requirements:

  • SC clearance or willingness to undergo SC process
  • Self-motivated and determined individual
  • Knowledge of the operational environment in which DII is deployed
  • Ability to cope under pressure in a highly visible environment
  • Flexible with work times
  • Ability to work under own initiative without constant guidance
  • Effective communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills
  • Attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Previous military/operational experience
  • Large-scale infrastructure support experience
  • Experience of supporting complex, distributed software
  • At least 2 years systems administration experience in a distributed environment
  • MCSE qualified or working towards this in a similar environment
