Job Title: Advanced Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Pharmacist to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As an Advanced Pharmacist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation services to patients in our community intermediate care unit.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a comprehensive medicines optimisation service to patients and the multidisciplinary treatment team, in line with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Develop clinical knowledge and skills to practice competently as a foundation pharmacist under the Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice.
  • Provide input into policy and procedures affecting the use of medicines at local and Trust-wide levels.
  • Act as a Practice Supervisor in the training and education of trainee pharmacists and junior pharmacists.
  • Participate in the pharmacy on-call service and Saturday service at the St Charles Hospital site.
Person Specification:
  • Vocational Master's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Postgraduate certificate in general Clinical Pharmacy
Desirable:
  • Working towards higher Degree/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy
  • Member of the RPSGB
  • Working towards membership of the faculty of the RPSGB
Previous Experience:
  • Demonstrate ability to recommend, substantiate and communicate medicine-related information to patients, carers and clinical staff
  • Recent significant and relevant experience in a Hospital Pharmacy
  • Previous evaluated experience of mentorship and training skills
  • To have undertaken clinical audit/quality improvement
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
  • Clinical and critical appraisal skills
  • Teaching and presentation skills
  • Communicates with medical, nursing, and other MDT & pharmacy staff in clear, precise and appropriate manner
Personal Characteristics:
  • Demonstrates ability to meet set targets
  • Demonstrate ability to organise self in order to ensure efficient use of time
