About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced LGV Shift Supervisor to join our team at Ocado Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supporting the management of our LGV operation in an efficient and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the management of personnel by company policies and procedures
  • Deal with employee issues professionally and provide feedback when necessary
  • Ensure that all team members receive the required training
  • Collaborate with the Training Team to assist in the integration of new employees and ongoing training for the LGV team
  • Foster a positive working environment and support site events and forums
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and outside service providers
  • Work with the management team to represent the brand and inspire and motivate the site team
  • Ensure compliance with all of our obligations to the Traffic Commissioner
  • Support the management of the LGV drivers and LGV operation to ensure operational excellence and adherence to safety standards
Requirements
  • Good numerical skills and ability to read and understand numerical data
  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written
  • PC literate (Excel, Google Operating Systems), Microsoft user - basic level
  • Management or supervisory experience, particularly in managing large groups
  • Self-motivation, ambition, and confidence
  • Adaptability and ability to work under pressure
  • Current UK Driving Licence
  • Experience of being on an Operators License
  • Clear communicator and motivator
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience of working in a 24/7 operation
  • Management based Qualifications (Degree, NVQ 4 & 5)
  • CPC National or International Road Haulage
  • Familiar with Ocado Tracker & HR Application
  • Understanding of Smartdrive systems and applications
  • Familiar with Tachograph management software
  • Ability to pre-empt and adjust for operational challenges
  • Familiarity with HR policies and procedures
  • People management and team-building skills
  • Previous experience in an FMCG environment, Fleet and Health and Safety Experience
