Job Overview

The Estates Department at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join their multidisciplinary maintenance team. The successful candidate will be based at Scarborough Hospital and will be required to work at various Trust sites.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide maintenance and repair services for mechanical infrastructure, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment.
  • Respond to emergency calls and perform repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Participate in on-call/out-of-hours rota and be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Requirements
  • Recognized and registered ETIB or CITB (or equivalent) craft/modern apprenticeship or Time served apprenticeship (level 3).
  • Current driving license with the ability to drive category B.
  • Good general knowledge of building services and engineering maintenance.
  • Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team and have demonstrable experience of working within a maintenance environment.
  • Reliable, resilient, enthusiastic, motivated, and able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
