SEMHA Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMHA teaching assistant to join our team at a special school in St Leonards-On-Sea. The school provides specialist education for KS1-4 students with a range of needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers and students in the classroom, as well as in small groups or one-to-one sessions
  • Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons, as well as the assessment and feedback of students' work
  • Contribute to the pastoral care and behaviour management of students
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in schools or with young people
  • At least a NVQ Level 2 or relevant experience in education or childcare
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to converse easily with students, teachers, and parents
  • Ability to deescalate challenging behaviour and promote positive outcomes
Working Hours and Pay:

08:30-16:00, Monday to Friday, with a day pay rate of £90-£95
