SSE is committed to becoming a leading energy company in a low-carbon world. Our ambitious plans involve investing £5 billion in low-carbon projects by 2027, with significant growth plans in place to achieve our goal of building a more sustainable and inclusive world for future generations.
We invite you to join us on our journey to net zero and help us power change.
About the Role
This role is part of our Transmission Cyber Programme team, supporting our Digital Strategy and Vision to be a progressive network owner, using digital to enhance social and economic value, deliver a leading experience for our customers, and enable the energy system to support net-zero carbon emissions.
The Cyber Delivery Lead will be responsible for delivering one or more projects in our Cyber Resilience Programme for Operational Technology. The programme will consist of over 53 projects totalling more than £30 million in the RIIO-ED2 regulatory review period.
The main purpose of the Cyber Delivery Lead role is to lead end-to-end delivery of the product lifecycle and product roadmap via their delivery team, using best practice methodologies, including both agile and waterfall, to ensure effective control over costs and resourcing, enabling the delivery of business outcomes.
- Lead the successful delivery of projects according to prescribed governance methodologies, ensuring project risks, issues, and dependencies are managed effectively.
- Manage the product and delivery teams, and wider stakeholders as required, across the end-to-end product lifecycle to ensure that resultant systems/services deliver the specified outcomes, within budget and timescale, without introducing technical debt.
- Work with delivery teams to ensure they are adopting and using appropriate methodologies and ceremonies effectively.
- Manage third parties, reviewing their performance, ensuring alignment with SSE's ways of working and values, acting as a routine contact point between organisation and supplier.
- Help protect SSE from cyberattack and data loss by following standards and instructions and by reporting risks and incidents.
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Experience of leading, managing, and delivering complex IT and/or OT projects, demonstrating and meeting business value and outcomes.
- High-level knowledge of development processes, including but not limited to DevOps, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean development.
- Experience of supporting budget and funding submissions, advocating for the correct level of funding to deliver against the products business and operational requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management experience with strong communication skills, including prioritising and influencing skills.
