Academic Training Programme Director

We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of Academic Training Programme Director for Anaesthesia (East Core and ACCS) in Yorkshire and the Humber. This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of medical education in our region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of education and training, as defined by the General Medical Council and other national bodies. They will work closely with the Head of School, clinical faculty, and other stakeholders to develop and implement educational programmes that meet the needs of our learners and the healthcare workforce.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivery in service and education, with experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context. They will possess excellent leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop and implement educational programmes that meet the needs of our learners and the healthcare workforce.
- Ensure high standards of education and training, as defined by the General Medical Council and other national bodies.
- Work closely with the Head of School, clinical faculty, and other stakeholders to develop and implement educational programmes.
- Lead and manage a team of educators and trainers to deliver high-quality educational programmes.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve learner supervision, assessment, and experience.
- Collaborate with other Training Programme Directors and stakeholders to develop and implement educational programmes that meet the needs of our learners and the healthcare workforce.

Person Specification:- Primary medical qualification or on the Specialist Register.
- Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, Professional Association, and/or Regulatory Body.
- Experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
- Experience of clinical and educational leadership.
- Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education.
- Leadership.
- Problem-solving.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and presentation skills.
- Organisation and time management skills.
