Job Title: Training Programme Director for Clinical Oncology

We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of Training Programme Director for Clinical Oncology in Yorkshire and the Humber. This is a unique opportunity to lead and support the delivery of high-quality education and training in clinical oncology.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership and work closely with the Head of School to deliver a wide range of functions aligned with the NHS England mandate.
  • Ensure high standards of education and training, as defined by the General Medical Council and other national bodies, for training posts and other educational programs in the region.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including local medical and dental schools, providers, and commissioners, to ensure seamless delivery of educational programs.
  • Lead on educational and workforce development elements, including advising and supporting in the development of educational programs and workforce strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement requirements and contribute to budget savings when required.
Requirements:
  • Primary medical qualification or on the Specialist Register.
  • Membership or Fellowship of a College, Faculty, Professional Association, and/or Regulatory Body.
  • Experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
  • Experience of clinical and educational leadership, with a demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with excellent communication, written, and presentation skills.
