Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Complex Nutrition Counsellor at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will provide expert nutrition care to patients with intestinal failure, working closely with healthcare staff and multidisciplinary teams.

About the Role

The postholder will be responsible for providing highly specialised dietetic care to patients with intestinal failure, including advice to patients, their families, and carers, as well as all healthcare staff at local and regional levels. This will involve developing and implementing guidelines and audit patient care practices, participating in training and education programs, and contributing to the adaptation of national standards for use in the local setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide complex nutrition counselling to patients requiring cognitive behavioural therapy skills
  • Analyse clinical and non-clinical information to form accurate nutrition care plans
  • Develop resources used in the education and training of patients, health professionals, and the public
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of clinical governance, risk assessment, and continuing quality improvement is also essential.
