About the Role:

This is a varied position with responsibilities for maintaining a wide range of assets and locations to the required standards. Delivery of routine preventative maintenance tasks on a variety of assets across the site, as well as fault finding of the building management and yard systems. Experience with these types of equipment would be an advantage.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of planned preventative maintenance
  • Fault identification of the depot systems and assets
  • Response & rectification of defects
  • Local management and supervision of contractors on site
  • Use of asset management systems.
  • Working safely within a railway environment

Requirements:

  • Dedicated to working in a safe and efficient way
  • Flexible, and comfortable working in a team
  • Confident using information technology
  • A good communicator, responsive to the depot team's needs.
  • Able to follow schematics and fault find on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Engineering/Technical qualifications or demonstrable experience in this area
  • Demonstratable knowledge of Health & Safety requirements

Advantageous Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of industrial pumps and hydraulics
  • Working knowledge of building facility & plant maintenance
  • Apprenticeship in mechanical / electrical biased discipline

Working Pattern:

There is a day shift pattern, covering 7 days - average 35 hours per week, with on-call requirements.

Additional Information:

The successful candidate must live within a one-hour commute of the depot.
