The Baobab Centre for Young Survivors, a non-residential therapeutic community, seeks a skilled Fundraising Strategist to support young asylum seekers and refugees who have experienced human rights abuses. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with small or medium-sized charities and be able to develop and implement a successful fundraising strategy.
As Senior Fundraising Lead, you will lead on the development of fundraising at Baobab, exploring new avenues for funding and nurturing existing relationships. You will strategize and carry out a successful program of fundraising from charitable trusts and foundations to an agreed annual target. You will also assist in delivering Baobab's individual major donor program.
The role involves playing a central part in the Baobab community and developing meaningful relationships with the young people we support. A strong understanding of the impact of human rights abuses on children and young people is essential, as well as insight into the experiences of unaccompanied young people attending our centre.
We offer a competitive salary of £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate and experienced fundraiser to progress further in their career and make a real difference in the lives of young survivors.
Baobab's Model: Our model aims for rehabilitation and justice through attending to both the internal and external world of each young person. As a core member of our team, you will strive to have an insight into the experiences of both the internal and external factors impacting on the lives of unaccompanied young people attending our centre.
Mental Health: All of the young people Baobab supports suffer significant mental health and developmental difficulties. As a key fundraiser, you will understand the impact of specific human rights abuses on the development of children and young people in exile and their individual experiences of loss, trauma, and grief on their mental health and well-being.
