Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

Job Summary
MI5 and MI6 are seeking experienced Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologists to join their teams. As a key member of the organization, you will work closely with colleagues to deliver impact at the heart of national security. Your expertise will be utilized to provide advice on risk and resilience in various contexts, supporting individuals and teams in high-risk areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulation-driven assessment of individuals, utilizing psychometrics as appropriate.
- Consultation with teams on psychological aspects of staff security and wellbeing issues, including complex casework.
- Development, delivery, and evaluation of psychologically informed training sessions.
- Engagement with the wider behavioural and social science community to share knowledge and ideas.
- Participation in small-scale research and audit projects to inform best-practice approaches.
- Adherence to local policies and procedures, clinical governance processes, and professional practice guidelines.
Person Specification
Essential criteria include a master's or doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology, registration with the Health and Care Professions Council, and post-qualification experience as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist. You will also be skilled in interpreting information from clinical interviews and psychometrics into accessible reports.
