We are seeking an experienced Waste Management Operations Manager to join our team at Indaver's Rivenhall Integrated Waste Management Facility in Essex.

Indaver is a leading provider of sustainable waste management services in Europe, and we deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions in the municipal, industrial, and specialist hazardous waste markets.

In this role, you will oversee all waste and residue related production and operational coordination activities required to operate the Rivenhall facility safely, efficiently, and compliantly.

You will be responsible for a team of Waste and Weighbridge Operatives, ensuring all team members work safely and return home safely, as well as being on top of development and training needs.

Our team operates on a 12-hour day shift schedule, 7am-7pm, and we are looking for someone who can lead by example and motivate their team to achieve excellence in their work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all waste delivery and residue removal activities, ensuring they are well coordinated and meet the required standards.
  • Liaise with customers and contractors on all matters concerning the safe execution of waste delivery and residue removal operations.
  • Ensure that all licence requirements are met at all times.
  • Work with the Production Manager to assist with the development of operations personnel to ensure a high degree of operational excellence and consistency.
  • Coordinate and facilitate external agency compliance monitoring operations.
  • General management of the Waste Team, approximately 10-11 personnel.
  • Ensure that all work undertaken within the facility is enabled in compliance with the Indaver Integrated Safe System of Work.

Requirements:

  • Ideally educated in a logistics or waste management related area, but relevant experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrating concern for people, safety, and the environment.
  • Experience working around frequent heavy vehicles.
  • Strong experience of operating ERP systems, such as SAP, would be highly beneficial.
  • Dealing with customers, transparency in communications and actions.
  • Machinery operations licenses an advantage, but training is available if required.
  • Supervisory experience within a small multi-discipline team.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK, as no visa sponsorship will be offered for this position.

Location: Rivenhall Integrated Waste Management Facility, Essex.

Working Hours: 8 hour shifts, typically Monday to Friday, 0800-1630, 40 hours per week.
