Asbestos Removal Operations Manager

At Hunter Mason Consulting, we are seeking an experienced Asbestos Removal Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of asbestos removal contracts, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage asbestos removal contracts, including preparation of tenders, site-specific HSE ASB5 Notifications, Plans of work, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all work carried out complies with Control of Asbestos Regulations and all other regulatory asbestos legislation.
  • Uphold all requirements relating to the Company's Asbestos removal license to ensure ongoing and future accreditation.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and manage asbestos removal activities to the highest standards.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager in ensuring that all procedures and policies are upheld in accordance with the Company and statutory requirements.
  • Produce pre-site specific assessments, plans of work, risk assessments, and ASB5 notification forms to the current industry standard required prior to any asbestos removal operations taking place.
  • Work with the Senior Contracts Manager to program asbestos removal workload for the region and identify required labour, supervisory resources, plant, and materials to ensure all contracts are resourced to optimum levels for the company and productivity is consistently maintained at a high level.
  • Immediately escalate to the Senior Contracts Manager any issues that arise associated with the day-to-day operational performance and compliance of the business.
  • Assist the Senior Contracts Manager in ensuring that all procedures and policies are upheld in accordance with the Company and statutory requirements as well as being involved in its formation.
  • Identify training requirements for removals supervisory and operative workforce staff.
Requirements:
  • Hands-on experience carrying out asbestos surveys on a mixed portfolio of sites.
  • Experience from a UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy.
  • Management, refurbishment, demolition, and re-inspection surveys.
  • Correctly bagging and labeling samples and ensuring they are sent to the laboratory for analysis.
