The Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic chef to join our Nailsworth team. Our café serves a delicious seasonal menu, and we need someone with an eye for detail to consistently provide great plates of food for our loyal customers.

You will have the opportunity to put your stamp on our menu, keeping our exceptional bread at the heart of it. We are passionate about our staff and we know how important work-life balance is. We won't require you to work evenings or Sundays.

We need a team player who is keen to engage with customers as well as fellow employees. The shop and café can get very lively with takeaway customers and those choosing to eat in. Experience working in a busy kitchen is essential, along with excellent time management skills.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day ordering of ingredients. You must have high standards of cleanliness and be up to date with food safety.

Who We Are

We are a fifth-generation family business that has been baking the finest bread, cakes and pastries since 1920. Throughout the last 100 years we have been committed to being the very best for our people, communities and environment. We were the first British bakery to be a Certified B Corporation which means that we use our business as a force for good. B Corps are a global community that put people and the planet first.

Our delicious, handmade products are enjoyed in our five shops and right across the South West and beyond. Find them in farm shops, delis, restaurants and cafes. We are proud to work with many customers that share our values of sustainability and quality such as The National Trust, Boston Tea Party, and Gloucester Services.

Our Bakery

We are a friendly and busy bakery making a wide range of artisan sourdoughs, overnight doughs, rolls, and speciality bread; many of which are award-winning. Our confectionary team make a wide range of delicious loaf cakes, tray bakes and pastries.
