About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced educator to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will work with schools, Local Authorities, and Virtual Schooling Teams across Newcastle, providing high-quality tutoring services to students with a range of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective tutoring sessions to students with SEMH and SEN needs
  • Work collaboratively with schools and Local Authorities to develop and implement tailored tutoring programs
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and progress
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff
Requirements
  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching students with SEMH and SEN needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced Children's DBS on the update service
