About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Auditor to join our team. As a Senior Auditor, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of financial reporting and auditing are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, in accordance with prescribed systems and procedures.

Main Duties/Areas of Responsibility
  1. Accounts
    • Prepare management accounts and ensure they are completed on time, accurately, and thoroughly.
    • Complete all sections of the accounts file and pass them on for manager review.
    • Prepare complex assignments for manager review and utilize junior staff on more simple assignments.
    • Support trainees and help with the development of their knowledge and skills.
    • Review annual accounts prepared by juniors and finalize them.
  2. Audit - where applicable
    • Complete planning documentation to ensure audits are carried out effectively.
    • Perform the role of the senior representative on site and conduct all relationships with the client in a professional manner.
    • Utilize and plan junior staff effectively and oversee their work standard.
    • Review/finish audit file to the appropriate standard, suitable for manager review.
  3. Tax
    • Deal with complex business tax computations, including corporation tax.
    • Prepare personal tax returns for manager/director review.
    • Ensure that clients are given good, pro-active advice as to limiting their tax liabilities within the boundaries of the legislative framework.
  4. Client
    • Deliver the service and develop the relationship with clients.
    • Build relationships with clients so that trust, respect, and understanding are the underpinning features.
    • Seek client feedback, act on it, and report on it.
    • Communicate with clients by letter, telephone, and face-to-face in a professional manner, recognizing and addressing their needs.
  5. Controls
    • Take account of budgets in the utilization of own time and overseeing juniors' time.
    • Manage own time effectively and utilize junior staff efficiently.
    • Ensure that all laid down systems, processes, and procedures are complied with.
    • Work is carried out by self and juniors according to company standard operating principles.
  6. Team
    • Provide daily feedback to all direct reports.
    • Review jobs and give clear, constructive feedback, using this process as a developmental tool.
    • Carry out annual appraisals of direct reports.
    • Take an active participation in the personal and professional development of all direct reports.

Experienced in ensuring that all aspects of financial reporting and auditing are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, in accordance with prescribed systems and procedures.
