Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our Community Neurological Conditions Management Team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients with progressive and acquired neurological needs.
Main Duties- Work as a Speech and Language Therapist as part of the wider multidisciplinary team within the Community Neurological Conditions Management Team, supporting clients with progressive and acquired neurological needs.
- Complete home-based assessments as well as seeing clients in outpatient settings.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in the assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment, and management of language, communication, and swallow problems in adults with acquired disorders and progressive neurological conditions, providing appropriate intervention and evaluating outcomes, within the community.

Person Specification- Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values.
- Degree/graduate diploma or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a speech and language therapist.
- Certificated postgraduate courses or equivalent in-house training in clinical specialty areas.
- Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
- Membership of an RCSLT Clinical Excellence Network (CEN).
- Postgraduate work experience as an SLT with an adult acquired population within the acute hospital setting.
- Experience of working in an MDT.
- Practiced as an SLT at Band 5 or above.
- Completed RCSLT NQP competencies.
- RCSLT Dysphagia Competent.
- Knowledge and experience of a range of approaches for the management of speech/swallowing/language and cognitive communication deficits.
- Experience of utilizing and referring patients for instrumental swallow assessment.
- Good understanding of relevant RCSLT and wider clinical guidelines relevant to rotations.
- Presentation to groups.
- Supervision of B5 SLTs, assistants, and/or students.
- Active participation in an audit or project work.
- Evidence of CPD.
