Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school providing day support for young people with SEN and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students during class to ensure they stay on track.
- Liaise with the class teacher to maintain a smooth-running class.
- Enable learners to access the curriculum.
- Support the pastoral needs of the learners.
- Contribute to setting the learning environment.
- Support learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the day.
Requirements
- Ability to work with learners who have various learning difficulties.
- Confidence to support the lead in groups across different educational subjects.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- NVQ level 2 in Teaching and Learning is desirable but not essential.
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
