Job Summary

As a key member of our Gas Engineering team, you will provide technical support for planning, design, operation, and maintenance of our gas distribution and transmission systems. You will work under the supervision of engineering staff to develop engineered solutions and recommendations to enhance the safety and reliability of our natural gas networks.

Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain project and program data, information, and records.
  • Work with various amounts and types of data, soliciting information across company functions and groups, utilizing data management software, GIS, and databases such as MS Excel or MS Access.
  • Support internal and external R&D projects, transmission and distribution integrity management programs, gas system material suitability analysis, material failure analysis, material specifications, material-related data, and material standards documentation and records in accordance with established processes and procedures.
  • Support leak-prone main prioritization by maintaining asset condition records.
  • Assist with development of various engineering reports, presentations, and documentation.
Requirements
  • General engineering knowledge, including planning, operations, and engineering design, analytic, modeling, and calculation, and understanding of the business model.
  • Computer skills, including ability to learn and utilize new engineering-specific software, and strong understanding of database programs (Access, Oracle, etc.).
  • Engineering documentation skills, including ability to adequately document and interpret engineering documentation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance environment, including local, state, and federal regulatory standards and requirements.
Education and Experience
  • Associates degree in technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of technical experience in engineering and/or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with manipulating and interpreting data.
  • Advanced experience with working with database programs and GIS software.
