About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Forestry England team in East England as a Beat Forester. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading a small team in managing the nation's forests in the Chilterns beat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team in planning, managing, and supervising forestry operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Develop and implement contract management strategies, ensuring effective delivery of forest operations.
  • Utilize MS Office applications to manage and analyze data, informing decision-making.

Requirements

  • Hold a degree or HND in Forestry or a significant equivalent experience in forestry or land management.
  • Proven experience in leading a team and providing support to staff.
  • Sound understanding of contract management and health and safety regulations.
  • Competence in the use of MS Office applications.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Competence and experience in the use of Forester GIS.
  • Membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF) or working towards membership.
