About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Piping Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our Pressure Equipment Design team, you will be responsible for leading projects to deliver piping solutions for the construction of new nuclear stations and systems at fusion research facilities, supporting the operation of the existing nuclear generating fleet, and decommissioning nuclear sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects to deliver piping solutions for complex nuclear and fusion projects
  • Develop and implement piping design solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including safety cases and technical reports
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Senior technical practitioner with extensive experience in piping and pressure vessel design and stress analysis
  • Experience working in a safety-critical and heavily regulated environment, such as nuclear power generation or decommissioning
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
