About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Specialist Support Worker to join our team at GSL Education. As a Behaviour Specialist Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs by planning and delivering small group interventions tailored to their requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with challenging behaviours by implementing individualised behaviour management plans and strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and emotional well-being.
  • Support students in developing social skills and self-regulation techniques through targeted interventions.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, promoting trust and encouraging positive interactions.
  • Attend training and professional development sessions to stay updated on best practices in behaviour management and special education.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people, especially those with challenging behaviours or special educational needs (SEN).
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students' emotional and social development.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
