Job Description:
Akamai is seeking a skilled Senior Platform Operations Engineer to join our team in Cambridge, MA or Reston, VA. As a key member of our Global Network Operations Command Center, you will play a critical role in monitoring, troubleshooting, and correcting emerging platform problems through an alert-driven workflow. You will also update and patch system software components and configurations, participate in a 24/7 network operations center shift-schedule, and follow operations center workflow procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting of high availability platform environments.
  • Updating and patching system software components and configurations.
  • Participation in a 24/7 network operations center shift-schedule.

Requirements:
  • 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or another related field.
  • Solid experience administering, monitoring, and resolving issues in a high availability platform environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in Linux/Unix system administration and good knowledge of SQL and Scripting languages.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud technologies.

Compensation:
Akamai offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on experience. In addition to your base salary, you may also be eligible for incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
