We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to work on employee relations case management. The successful candidate will have strong ability and experience in managing all ER complex casework and change programmes, such as restructures and TUPE programmes, and experience with union engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Provide HR support and assistance to the HR Operations team and give advice and guidance to managers and staff.
- Build and develop effective working relationships with managers to influence and support them to achieve their local and corporate objectives.
- Provide managers and staff with appropriate advice and guidance on Council policies, terms and conditions of employment, and other HR-related issues in accordance with employment legislation.
- Support, coach, and empower Directorate line managers in managing people issues, such as disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Deal with local trade union representatives in relation to individual cases or local collective issues.
- Responsible for screening all vacancies, identifying potential redeployment opportunities for employees on the redeployment register, and assisting in matching them to suitable alternative jobs across the Council.
- Undertake effective job evaluations, drawing on benchmarking data, and ensuring a fair, consistent, and objective assessment.
- Experience managing restructures, complex casework, and TUPE is essential.
- Experience of dealing with customer complaints, including verbal and written responses, is essential.
- Experience of working in a HR department in a customer-focused organisation, proactively facilitating and leading change, is essential.
- Experience of working successfully with Senior Managers on complex HR issues is essential.
- CIPD qualified or working towards this with experience of working effectively in a complex organisation is essential.
The role is hybrid, with a requirement to be in the office every Wednesday and available to attend the office on an ad-hoc basis. The successful candidate must have flexibility to be onsite as and when required for face-to-face meetings.
